THE STALNAKER FAMILY ASSOCIATION WAS FORMED IN 1979 IN WEST VIRGINIA
The organization's purpose: provide education of the history, genealogy, and culture of the early settlers of North Central West Virginia including the descendants of Captain Samual Stalnaker.
The organizations's public educational components include the following: newsletter; annual research day; Jacob Stalnaker JR. cabin programing, restoration and preservation; Old Stalnaker cemetery maintenance; and web site. Please contact the appropriate person in contacts if you would like to participate or assist in any of the projects.
The organization's membership fee helps to cover the cost of these projects. Cash donations are also appreciated and necessary in order to help cover the costs.
The Jacob Stalnaker Jr. cabin (circa 1795), which has stood on a rise south of Beverly, West Virginia, now has a new home in Beverly historic district behind the Randolph County Museum. The cabin is open to the public with the cost of admission to the museum.
The annual research day and reunion of the Stalnaker Family Association is held in Beverly and meets the third Sunday of July each year.
The Old Stalnaker Cemetery is located across the side road from Scott's Lake (Rt 37), east of US Highway 219-250 south of Beverly, West Virginia on the Valentine Stalnaker original land grant farm, patented May 15, 1784.
